Partial Dentures

Partial dentures are a removable replacement option for people that are missing one or more of their teeth on either the upper or lower jaw. When replacing teeth with a partial denture, the remaining teeth are used to support and stabilize the partial denture. Greater support and retention is achieved when there are more teeth present. A good bone structure will also contribute to a stable, well-supported partial denture. It is important to verify that the remaining support teeth are healthy enough to be used as anchor teeth. It is possible that additional dental work will be required to restore the remaining teeth so they are healthy enough to predictably support the partial denture.

Same day Partial (Acrylic Base)

Our same-day partial denture is fabricated in our state of the art in-house lab using the most durable high-impact acrylic resin available. It is our most affordable partial denture option. Most patients select this option because of the low cost, the speed of delivery, and the great look. Often, this type of partial denture is referred to as an interim partial denture. Our patients will sometimes choose this type of denture while waiting for a more permanent restoration like implants. The average lifespan of this type of partial denture is 3-5 years. When well cared for it can last up to 7 years.

FlexFit Partial (Flexible Base)

Our FlexFit partial denture is fabricated in our partner lab using a flexible nylon-based material. This is an extremely comfortable partial denture and offers the best look of all the partial dentures we offer. This is a very popular option with our patients that want a superior look and want a denture that is more durable than the acrylic-based option. It is not available the same day but, within one week you can be using your new flexible base partial. The average lifespan of this type of partial denture is 5-7 years. When well cared for it can last up to 10 years.

Traditional Partial (Metal Base)

Our traditional denture is our most durable denture. It is made with a metal framework that is much thinner and far stronger than the other types of partial dentures. Once we verify that the framework fits precisely in your mouth, we will add our most durable high-impact acrylic resin and teeth, giving you a beautiful well fitting partial denture that can last decades. Some people worry about the metal showing in their mouth. This is a valid concern but, we will discuss with you an option which still uses the metal framework but, switches out the metal clasps with flexible nylon clasps. This will minimize the amount of metal that may show in your mouth. The average lifespan of this type of partial denture is 15-20 years. When well cared for it can last up to 40 years.
